Erasmus+ participation

The participation of the GIP-FTLV of Burgundy (VET and Lifelong Learning Group of Burgundian academy) is part of the international strategy of the Académie de Dijon, which has made European mobility and international openness one of the three pillars of its academic project: “Dijon, a learning academy”: http://academie-apprenante.ac-dijon.fr

Its motivation is to enable GIP staff, vocational training students (BTS – Brevet de Technicien Supérieur) and the teachers and non-teaching staff who support them to benefit from all the opportunities offered by the Erasmus+ program: The aim is to enable these future beneficiaries to acquire new skills and, for apprentices, to increase their employability at the end of their studies, while also opening up to the world and Europe by discovering other cultures and thus gaining autonomy and self-confidence.

For this reason, the GIP's ambition is firstly to promote internship mobility and then study mobility under Key Action 1 (KA1) among its students, as well as among teaching staff and even administrative staff. Nevertheless, it also plans to engage in future KA2 projects to develop cooperation activities with partner organizations in its network.

Training offer

The « BTS » (Brevet de Technicien Supérieur), a specific two-year post-secondary training program, exists within the LMD (Licence-Master-Doctorat) system. This professional diploma is obtained over two years and is equivalent to a bachelor's degree (second year of the bachelor's program).

However, an additional year of study is required to obtain a bachelor's degree level, which is the first recognized degree in the LMD system.

The situation for BTS programs is as follows : organised and delivered in secondary schools, the final assessment leads to a national diploma. Students who have obtained their BTS and completed the four semesters of their program may consider continuing their studies, but this is not automatic. It is subject to a selection process (review of the application, exam, interview). Several training courses are available after this diploma. While access to different courses is possible, continuing on to a professional bachelor's degree (two additional semesters) in a field of study compatible with the diploma obtained is one of the most popular choices: 33.5% of BTS holders continue their studies in this way.

The commitment of the GIP-FTLV de Bourgogne to Erasmus+ for its BTS students reveals an undeniable ambition for these young people, in order to offer them broader prospects in terms of skills and further studies.

The GIP-FTLV de Bourgogne, which is involved in many European mobility and partnership projects, will rely in particular on its Pôle Europe International (PEI) to expand its European and international network to new higher education institutions .

The apprenticeship department of the GIP-FTLV in Burgundy (GIP-CFA ENB), which is responsible for apprenticeship contracts of the students, has made European and international mobility one of its objectives.

As such, and after obtaining the ECHE-Charter, the GIP-FTLV of Burgundy has committed to a continuous process of informing and supporting both apprentice candidates and teacher candidates.

Student and staff mobility

As international mobility primarily targets internships in companies, the apprenticeship service (CFA) will provide detailed information to companies hosting apprentice students in order to facilitate the implementation of their mobility.

It should be noted that the students of the GIP-FTLV de Bourgogne are spread across 42 BTS programs throughout the Burgundy region and in the 27 UFAs (apprentice training units) that are members of the GIP-CFA. An analysis of the specific characteristics of professional courses will enable us to play an even greater role in encouraging European mobility for certain BTS courses.

To this end, special attention is also paid to providing information and training to teachers, supervisors, and all those involved with BTS apprenticeship students, who are known to play a major role in promoting European mobility.

In addition to mobility initiatives, the GIP-FTLV in Burgundy plans to engage in cooperation partnerships with its network of European partners during the programming period in order to develop themes that are relevant to this vocational level of higher education. Indeed, the originality of this diploma lies in the way it is developed, based on the establishment of close partnerships between training institutions, companies, and professional branches. Access to Erasmus+ K1 and K2 activities is a major opportunity to promote this specific training program and open up prospects for further studies in France and Europe for these students, thanks to the acquisition of extended skills.
